18th Annual Conference

Pre-Registration

Now Open!!

Our 18th Annual Dance Conference will take place Thursday April 1, 2010 thru Sunday April 4, 2010. Classes will be held again at Baruch College and our company concert on April 3, 2010 will be held at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Come join us again for 4 days of traditional African dance, drum and history workshops from Senegal, Guinea, Mali, Haiti and the USA. Pre-Registration closes on March 20, 2010.

 

Conference Workshops: Direction to Baruch College - 17 Lexington Avenue, NY NY - corner of East 23rd Street. Take 1, 6, F, W or R Train to 23rd Street Station. Entrance on Lexington Ave. Registration and classes are held on the 6th floor. Meter parking throughout neighborhood. You do not have to pay meters on Sunday.

Company Concert Tickets Now On Sale!!

Maimouna Keita Company Concert

This coming spring we will return to NYU's beautiful Skirball Center for the Performing Arts to present our annual company concert, Sila Djiguiba: Path of Hope. Tickets are already on sale through the Skirball Center website! The rich cultural heritage of Africa and the African Diaspora is celebrated at this brilliant dance concert.

New Class! New Location!

Marie Basse starts a new class at a new location!!

Starting on January 4th 2010 our Artistic Director, Marie Basse Wiles, will begin teaching a Sabar class at Peridance Center's new location. This on-going class will take place on Monday evenings 6-7:30pm. She will also continue teaching her on-going Wednesday  Djembe class at this same new location from 6-7:30pm as well!! Come out and join us. Live drums, all levels welcome!!

 

Peridance Center's new address is 126 East 13th Street (between 3rd & 4th Avenues) one block south of Union Square.
